Dandelion Kids offer social groups for children on the autism spectrum in Melbourne’s west.

Social Learning Groups – Mondays Deer Park & Tuesdays Yarraville

Our neuro-affirming, play-based social groups meet weekly during school terms. In groups of up to 6, we offer opportunities for neurodiverse children to meet, play, make friends and have fun in an environment that encourages social interaction, builds self-esteem, and celebrates individual strengths. Our sessions typically include:

• News – an opportunity to talk about interests and listen to and ask questions of others.
• Brain break – a fun, physical, interactive game
• Social learning activity on current topic – e.g. calming strategies, problem-solving, self-awareness.
• Games/craft – board games, physical games, art-craft activities that encourage social interaction

Classes run for 45-50 minutes. Parents are sent regular emails to support home follow up.

Session Times: 45-50 minutes on Mondays during school terms.
Location: Hunt Club Community and Arts Centre, Deer Park
Cost: $38 per session payable in advance by half or full term

Boys* 6-9 years 4.30-5.20
Girls* 8-12 years 5.30-6.20
Boys* 10-13 years 6.30-7.20
*and gender diverse

Session Times: 45-50 minutes on Tuesdays during school terms.

Location: Yarraville Community Centre
Cost: $38 per session payable in advance by half or full term

Children* 6-9 years 4.00-4.50

Initial one week trial can be organised at $38 with no commitment until after the completion of the trial. After the trial enrolment is for full term only and all absences will be invoiced in full. Participants pay for half or full term in advance.

Art-Craft Social Group – Thursdays Yarraville

An opportunity for those with a passion, interest or strength in art & craft to meet and create with other like-minded children with neurodiversities.

• Make friends
• Talk with others while creating
• Share your work
• Be inspired, learn and make art

Session Times: 50 minutes on Thursdays 5-5.50 pm during school terms.
Location: Yarraville Community Centre
Cost: $20 per session payable in advance by term
Ages: 10-16
